Why It’s Important to Celebrate Small Successes
Tangerines are quite popular in Chinese New Year. Children usually prefer tangerines rather than mandarin oranges because tangerines are seedless, sweet and bite-sized. In Chinese tradition, Oranges and tangerines are often associated with happiness and abundance. Therefore, we have plenty of these fruits at home during chinese new year, and we exchange them with relatives, neighbors and close friends to wish them happiness and abundance.
When I see tangerines, they look like small successes that we have in life. We often expect big success, and we are quite disappointed. Big success doesn’t happen quite often. What if we care about these small successes and celebrate them, will we produce more small successes? Yes, quite likely. Remember that children are easy to be happy for small things. Why can’t adults be happy for small successes?
Where can you find those small successes every day? You don’t wait them to come, you create them every day. Look for things that you did for today. No matter how small progress you made, that’s your small success, acknowledge it and celebrate it. When you focus on small successes, you are more motivated to create more successes. You’re like a tangerine tree which bears small fruits.
When you don’t take care yourself, you will no longer produce fruits and you may die inside. Compared to a tangerine tree, a mandarin orange tree is much bigger. As you grow stronger, you grow into a mandarin orange tree which is capable of producing bigger fruits, your big successeses.
Small successes are like small waves which often come if you strive for creating them. Big success is like a big wave which come by surprise and it’s triggered from small waves.
Be happy in every tiny success you create! 😉
You plant your seeds, care for them and you shall receive a rich harvest.
I visualize myself that I’m not only producing tangerines for myself, I also make an impact on others, solo business owners to help them produce their fruits as well. 🙂
