The Magical Five in Relationship Building
Napoleon Hill in the book of Think and Grow Rich quoted that Love is one of the most powerful of all major positive emotions.
February is the month of love. Love can have a universal meaning. I also call February, the month of relationship.
Do you believe that a good relationship can enhance the quality to your life? I do.
Just imagine if a person is deprived from any social contacts; the person will die mentally.
Whatever we do; we make an impact on people’s lives, including our family and people around us.
For example: If I wake up in the morning and prepare breakfast for kids, they will go to school and study well.
A Good relationship can make us feel good; and good feeling invokes good behaviors, gives us more energy and makes us do our best.
Good relationship can support us. Just imagine if you build a good relationship with more people, you will receive more support in your life.
Building good relationship extends to workplace and business.
So, what are the criteria in relationship building? Here are my opinions of ideal values in building a healthy and good relationship. I call them the MAGICAL FIVE. 😉
The Magic #1: Respect
Respect and accept other people’s communication to build rapport. If we embrace them, they will become our friends. If we judge and criticize them, they will become enemies.
The Magic #2: Integrity
When you make a promise to another person, honor the promise. If you can’t make it, please do inform. Having good moral and good ethics is the foundation in building good relationship. Integrity creates TRUST. We want to buy from people who have Integrity. If you build a business, hold this integrity value.
The Magic #3: Symbiosis
I say that every relationship is a symbiosis; mutual benefits for both, give and take. In business, giving values is important before we make sales. Blogging is one way to give values to your audience besides the advantages of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and social media.
The Magic #4: Authenticity
Be yourself. There’s a saying that everyone else is taken, why not be yourself. I can’t approve someone to be my friend on Facebook or Linkedin if they have no photo of theirs and no information. In my website, I do share information about myself and what I do, so people get to know me more. Authenticity in business is translated into personal branding. Build a website with your personal brand. Video marketing is one tool to show people about your authenticity. People can see and hear you by watching your video before they buy your products/services.
The Magic #5: Love
Love also means care . Show that you care in relationship building. If you incorporate love in your heart in marketing and business, you can’t fail. In the book “The greatest salesman in the world” by Ong Madino, love is one of the key aspects in marketing and business.
Do you agree with me that these magical 5 will make your relationship better if you apply them?
In today’s Internet and social media, we can build relationship online. I choose to collaborate online with people who have these 5 values above. I also work with clients based on the 5 values above.
There is a quote from Jim Rohn:
You’re the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.
Or it can be interpreted as: you become like the 5 people you spend the most time with. Choose carefully whom you make friends with.
For your self-reflection to attract a good relationship into your life. 🙂
